After managing an 8-7 prediction record for Week 2 (hey, at least I was right over 50% of the time), I'm continuing to see if I can't build on that as the strengths and weaknesses of teams become more apparent as the weeks go on.

Kansas City Chiefs at Atlanta Falcons - The Falcons suffered through the first growing pains of Matt Ryan last week in Tampa. Now he has the winless Chiefs coming in to town. The Chiefs just lost to a Oakland team that played very similar to what the Falcons game plan is - win with the run and hope the QB doesn't make mistakes. Expect the Chiefs to stack the line and make Matt Ryan beat them which at home or not is tough for any rookie. Chiefs win 17-16

Oakland Raiders at Buffalo Bills - The Bills are coming off a big road win and are continuing towards proving they are the class of the AFC East. The Raiders will struggle against a defense that stuffed Jacksonville's running game. Home Sweet Home for Buffalo as they win in cruise control. Bills win 31-7

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Chicago Bears - These two teams are more similar than dissimilar. Major difference - Tampa Bay's running attack is better than the Bears, and the Tampa D just held Micheal Turner to 46 on 14. Monte Kiffin also knows everything Lovie Smith does and then some. Gruden will respect the Bears defense and put it in the air minimally. Tampa wins 21-17

Carolina Panthers at Minnesota Vikings - The Panthers are at 2-0 thanks to last minute heroics. The Vikings are better than their record shows. Both teams are good, even though the Panthers get Steve Smith back this week, the Vikings will get their first win with home field advantage in their favor in a close game. Vikings win 21-20

Miami Dolphins at New England Patriots - The Jets got cocky and underestimated a team without Tom Brady, costing them the game as they looked completely unprepared. The Dolphins won't make that mistake but it won't matter. The stellar teammates Cassel has to lean on will carry him and the Patriots past the Dolphins. Patriots win 23-13

Cincinnati Bengals at New York Giants - The Bengals ride into New York and for once are lucky to be on the road. The Giants have played worse at home than on the road lately. The Bengals will find themselves finally able to put points on the board, but their terrible D will cost them the game - again. Giants win 34-24

Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans - Houston is not that bad of a team and opened the season against a tough opponent. Matt Schaub will have a good day throwing the ball but they will be hard pressed to get their running game going against the Titans defense. Texans will get a couple - probably lucky - turnovers and win the ballgame. Texans win 23-20

Arizona Cardinals at Washington Redskins - The Redskins just took out NFC South favorites New Orleans, but the Cardinals are seemingly trying to blaze a path that finally proves themselves worthy of respect from other teams. If Warner has another game like last week, the Redskins will be licking their wounds. Arizona wins 33-21

New Orleans Saints at Denver Broncos - The Saints are a threat - on offense. Their pass rush is decent but their secondary is subpar. Jay Cutler will have a field day with his variety of weapons. This win will be no fluke. Denver wins 34-16

Detroit Lions at San Francisco 49ers - The 49ers made an impressive comeback win happen in Seattle and will still be riding high on morale as they bring it back home to face the hapless Lions. Detroit needs to get an offensive Line that can protect their quarterback and a defense that knows how to tackle. 49ers take it 29-24

St. Louis Rams at Seattle Seahawks - one team is injury plagued, the other is a team that seems to forget they play in the NFL. Seattle has still shown more promise with half their team being back-ups. Seattle takes their easy win 26-9

Browns at Ravens - Matt Ryan didn't win 2 in a row, Joe Flacco won't either. The Ravens lose this one, by how much depends on which defense shows up - the good one from week 1 or the aging one from the end of last season. Browns win 33-15

Jacksonville Jaguars at Indiannapolis Colts - The Jaguars and their injuries have yet to get anything on track this season, while Peyton Manning seemed like he was figuring it out at the end of last weeks comeback victory. (Being a Bucs fan I know something about Manning coming from behind...) Colts win 24-17

Pittsburgh Steelers at Philadelphia Eagles - The Eagles are playing extremely good footbal for being 1-1. The Steelers didn't beat Cleveland in all that convincing of a manner and have some issues that need to be resolved before they claim the 'best in the AFC' title. Philadelphia will exploit them at home. Eagles win 38-30

Dallas Cowboys at Green Bay Packers - Dallas is still  the kings of the regular season in the NFC. Now if only Romo would play this way in the post season. Good thing it's not that time yet. Dallas wins 34-27

New York Jets at San Diego Chargers - San Diego is good, despite their record. They really feel they have something to prove and it's unfortunate for the Jets that they are playing them a week after their loss in Denver that they are all still fuming over. Chargers win 36-21

2008 Week 3

These are very good picks, definately wager-worthy.  I especially like the upset pick with Philadelphia over Pittsburgh... that may possibly be the game of the week.  Only a few disagreements:

Chiefs vs. Falcons

This is a bounce back game for Matt Ryan. Granted, he will be far from spectacular, but his performance will make last weeks disaster seem like a fluke.  Chiefs QB Tyler Thigpen came off an absolutely terrible performance last week against the Raiders.  Falcons win 24-17.

UPSET SPECIAL

Bengals vs. Giants
This is a make or break game for the Bengals.  TE Kelley and DT Thornton both practiced this week.  The Bengals young defensive backfield will be jab in the side for the offense, which will break through this week.  Ocho Cinco is nearing 100% and Carson Palmer had a productive practice despite his ankle.  Bengals win 24-23.
